Fashionable Fine Art - Audrey Wancket Photo Shoot

On eleven acres of wooded forest and hills in Illinois, it's hard not to be inspired! Housed in a restored barn full of rich & colorful canvas backgrounds and striking antique furniture, I met Audrey Wancket.

As I changed into my first outfit and stepped "on stage", I realized that this was more than a photo shoot. As Audrey went into creative-expression mode with camera in hand, I suddenly dropped the worries of how my hair/make-up looked and let it be. My new mantra became, "just be."

The antique setting wasn't the only charming element at Wancket studios. This three-time Kodak gallery award winner has thoughtfully constructed a peaceful, harmonious and relaxed studio. I couldn't help but feel inspired to leave behind the commercialized panics of societal standards and look for personal depth during the photo shoot.

About one week later and with a child's anticipation I saw the portrait and could not believe the masterpiece at hand. It's not a portrait or a photograph, it's fine art that exudes my personality in an honest, unreproducible fashion. You can imagine my unbelievable suprise when I saw more fine art on heels. Fashionable Fine Art : Below is Audrey's perspective... "The Paintings of the Shoes was a personal fine art project. I love Kathryn’s style of color and shape and played with this idea for a week. I photographed the shoes and then added the painterly styling and printed them on canvas. I love the way canvas looks and feels on the edges and felt it added to the artistry of the concept, so in keeping this feeling, I decided to frame them with the frayed edges exposed."
